The name of this book is Procession of the dead and it is part of Darren Shan’s third series, and unlike The Saga Of Darren Shan and The Demonata it’s his first adult series and is most certainly in no way suitable for children. This is the first book in The City Trilogy. The preface of this book makes it seem like an ordinary novel about a wannabe gangster and for the most part the book reads that way too apart from some slight strange occurrences. But when the weirdness dramatically increases I became completely mesmerized in the book and read straight to the finish without pause. I absolutely loved this book through to the end and you have to admire it for its complexity and depth which only increased as the story unfolded. The action in this book races you though to the end in an instant and leaves you eagerly wanting to read more! The title which suggests something of the zombie sort is not at all what it is, but to be honest that was what I wanted. But I soon realised to be much better than something like that. The novel is not overly gory but the language used (funny as it can be) is sometimes a bit too over the top. Preface:Quick-witted and cocksure, young upstart Capac Raimi arrives in the City determined to make his mark as a gangster. Then he crosses paths with the cardinal, and his life changes forever. As Capac begins to discover more about the extent of the cardinal’s influence on his own life he is faced with hard choices. And as his ambition soars ever higher he will learn all there is to know about loss, and the true cost of ultimate power… This book is well writen and keeps you glued to it till the end. Hope you enjoy as much as I did. Thanks for reading!
