• Tarot Tuesday continues

    07 April 2020

It's Tarot Tuesday time again, courtesy of artist, role-player and tweeter extraordinaire Molly-Marie. She went into overdrive creating tarot cards based on characters from my Cirque Du Freak books, and has now completed that series and started on the Demonata -- so expect a deluge of pieces from her over the new few Tuesdays!

First up here is Arra Sails, dancing across her beloved bars.

Next is Evanna, looking beautifully bewitching.

The final card is the Mr Tall card. It's a little bit bewildering upon first perusal, but luckily Molly Marie was on hand to explain her thinking behind it -- in a nutshell, she wanted to illustrate the community of the Cirque Du Freak cast and crew, bound together by the paternal Hibernius Tall. In more detail...

"Okay, this is gonna take some explanation but the Chariot is Mr Tall. I didn’t want to do a normal family setting. I’ve probably missed some Cirque Du Freak characters, but... the bigger hand is Mr Tall. Under with the chains is Two Bellies -- eating metal, etc. Under him is Madame Truska's hand. Under Truska is Evra Von. Next to him is Darren with a small boat on his arm. (A reference to his pirate outfit). Next to him Hans Hands? The one who cannot be hit with anything while running fast? I haven’t read the books in a while. :-) Next is Larten and Madam Octa. Up from them is the Wolf Man's hands. Okay, so Mr Tall with his hand above is like -- helping someone by grasping their hand. He has helped them by giving them a place. Also why I thought the Chariot worked."
