I recently started reading “Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children”, and I noticed some similarities between those books and Cirque Du Freak. Hugh Apiston can control bees like Darren controls spiders and dragons, Jacob Portman can see and sense hollowgasts, a monster that killed his grandfather Abraham who lived at the orphanage when he was a teenager after his family got killed. There are the usual contortionists in both of these works, but this story has a girl who can make fire, a girl with two mouths, an invisible boy, a boy who can animate the dead, a boy who is a psychic, a girl who is lighter than air, a strong girl, a girl who can make plants grow, and teachers who have bird names for their surnames and they can shape shift into the birds they are named for. In the first book, they had a circus like the Cirque Du Freak that Jacob had seen when he visited the place. It sounds like these people would fit in with the Cirque Du Freak if these works ever crossed over. If you’ve read these stories, do you agree with this?
