“Not the sprites,” he smiled to her. “It’s a daylight ring, you know for vampires.”

“Vampires aren’t, though.” Mila smiled to him, as she kissed his cheek as she checked her phone for the time, “You’ve been reading too much twilight.”

“They are real,” he tried to explain. When she mentioned Twilight he made a face, “That novel is an abomination.”

“Well, when I see one then I’ll believe it.” Mila said to him, as she picked up her bag, “I’m late for class, but we’re still having a party for your birthday, okay?”

“No party, please.” He got up and walked her to her class room.

Mila was kind of let down by this, but nodded to him when she knew he really didn’t want it, “Fine, no party. I promise.” She said to him, sweetly.
