There was a blizzard, a very strong and cold blizzard around the wall. A small hut stood in the center of the forest which was covered in deep snow and the trees swayed violently.

Gared and Jon were out in the snow, both wearing their ranger outfit. Gared held his sword in both hands, treading past the trees very carefully, “I swear to god i heard men!” Gared shouted at Jon over the wind, who turned and stood facing Gared.

“You need to be sure about things before you say, we’ll head back for now, if we hear anything else we’ll come back out,” Jon said, turning away from Gared and heading back towards the hut.

Gared sighed and sheathed his sword, “God damn cold, should be used to it by now,” he complained, he folded his arms then set off after Jon.

(We should find a way to have our characters meet up or something)

Akumi sat by the window in her school, watching the blizzard that had started spontaneously. The school day had already finished and so she was stuck inside because of the blizzard. She clutched a book tightly in her arms before she felt someone tap her on the shoulder.

“Akumi, let’s go to where everyone else is.” Her friend, Millie, said to her with a small smile on her face. Millie was one of her only friends as she didn’t have many.

Akumi blinked before nodding. She stood up from her seat, taking one glance back at the window but she stayed quiet as Millie grabbed her wrist, dragging her out the classroom and into the hallway.

Bridge burrowed deeper into the corner of the school library, pulling his knees up to his chest and hugging them tightly to his body. It was something that was unexpected, the sudden downpour of snow, but Bridge had stated that he would make the best of the time that he was still trapped in the school - that didn’t seem to effect him now that he was hauled up in the corner bored out of his mind.

Blowing out his cheeks, he glanced up at the ceiling and pursed his lips; he considered calling his mother but the uproar that was currently bubbling up from the other occupants of the room was that the lines were down. He ruled out the idea and pursed his lips more while he thought.

“Perhaps I could,” He trailed off, thinking over the idea with a small frown on his face before shaking his head, “That’s too risky.”

Head falling forward into his knees, Bridge continued to mutter to himself, ignoring the eyes that trailed in his direction and the disapproving whispers of his classmates.

Looking out the window of the school in his hidden corner smiling to himself as he flipped through his Facebook feed. He thought it was funny how kids his ‘age’ were so ......cute with their first world problems. He cursed when he saw his phone needed charging. He made his way over to the library. He went in the corner near Bridge. Winking at him while he plugged in his phone. “Hey, I am Mark, your Bridge, right?”

Lifting his head, he blinked at this newcomer with a look of pure confusion and gave a shallow nod as he cleared his throat. It wasn’t often that someone actually spoke to him, and this boy appeared older than him and unfamiliar - a boy from the class above him, maybe?

Gradually, Bridge gave a soft nod once he’d noticed he’d been dwelling on this for longer than necessary. “Yes…” He shifted his weight, hugging his knees a little tighter. This was still rather new to him, trying not to be weird when he was in conversation.

Akumi got dragged into the library by Millie still hold her book, her friend then let go of her wrist while she went to socialise with the other people. Akumi went over to a relatively empty space, sitting down and looking around her. She was obviously not used to this many people in the library or anywhere for that matter.

Gared grimaced as a massive clump of snow dropped from the tree and landed on top of him, he brushed the snow off then looked at the small hut. The hut wasn’t much, but it did it’s job effectively. Gared started to walk towards the hut but then stopped, a strange cuboid shaped shimmer had passed through the air a couple of metres away, Gared passed it off but he saw the shimmer again and his curiosity spiked. Gared drew his sword and stepped toward the shimmer and as he got closer, he reached out to touch it….

Bridge flashed him a smile, giving a quick nod of his head to state he was perfectly fine. There was no need for someone he didn’t know to be so concerned.

“I’m good,” He stated, forcing himself to his feet and stretched his arms above his head with a simple smile gracing his lips. Starting away from the corner, the brunette decided that, perhaps, there was a book on science in the library that he hadn’t read yet so started his search.

Akumi looked over at the two males but didn’t get up to talk to them or anything, she didn’t recognize them and so she didn’t want to go over to them because of that reason, she was quite happy sitting there alone, reading the book that she had in her arms but she was distracted so she didn’t read at all

“I do?” He asked distractedly, running his finger along each of the spines as he read each individual title. This was going to be an interesting search, science books didn’t seem to be the school’s main interest and it seemed that filling their brains with fiction was. Each science book that he picked out (they really needed to file these in an order) were either one’s that a toddler could read or ones that he’d had the privilege of reading in the comfort of his own home.

Pulling out a picture book, he became distracted by the appealing illustrations on the front and gave out a small giggle. Growing up, his home had been very bare of anything that a child would love growing up, there was little toys, no picture books and no cartoons for him to watch on the TV.

Gared touched the shimmer and all of a sudden, the school appeared right in front of him. Gared fell over into the snow, his eyes wide, he had never seen anything like it in his life, “Is this some weird ancient artifact or something?” He mutters under his breath as he stood up, he brushed the snow off his ranger uniform and turned to face the hut, “Jon! Something extremely… Weird has just appeared right here!” He shouted at the hut, then grimaced, what if something or someone heard him that was inside the school, he drew his sword just in case anyone did hear him…

Akumi looked over towards the window, standing up and looking out of it, she was sure it was just the wind but it sounded like a person. She bit her lip but she didn’t want to dare go out there as it was like that and it was cold and too dangerous, even she knew that much
