Katherine wondered what was in the goblet and she watched as it was passed around. “Is that blood?” She mumbled to herself. She liked the clothing they were all wearing but wondered why they dressed that way

Vlad looked at her, “Mhm, you’re correct,” He stated rather bluntly, not caring what it looked like to outsiders as the goblet continued to get passed around. He placed his hands into his pockets, aware of people turning to glance at them because they could smell the human flesh on her. They were whispering amongst themselves, leaving him to turn to face her with a similar smirk to what he wore when she’d asked the question, “Any more questions?” He asked her, though his voice was quiet and gruff. It left him with a sense of mysteriousness, which Vlad had learned to keep up when surrounded by unknown people, and/or creatures that may or may not cause harm to someone.

She was confused, Katherine could easily tell if they were ghouls but they aren’t, they don’t have that smell and also she knows most ghouls anyway. “Are you part of a cult?” She asked, wondering if he would give her a straight answer or not, she hope she did. She shoved her hands into her pockets, looking at him hoping for an answer

“You could say that,” He responded softly, glancing over at a young child who finished off the last drop only to scurry over to the woman and hand her the empty goblet. The second goblet was still moving around the other half of the room, voices of those who’d already drank rising once again in discussions of recently discussed information which had caused slight panic within the ranks of the people. However, Vlad was merely standing there, his face blank as people moved to other people in other parts of the room and greeted them which meant that this had been the first meeting in a while. Some met up each night, sharing varied factoids within small groups that led to larger meetings if the information was important, or interesting and needed to be shared.

Natasha pressed up against the wall, realising now that these were not just a cult. Oh no. These were vampires. And if any of them happened to catch even the faintest whiff of her, she’d be done for. Her eyes wide, she looked for the door… but it was blocked by vampires. She was trapped. In a room. Of. Vampires. She began to hyperventilate.

“So you are normal people in a cult that’s why your sent is diffrent?” She asked. “Because you don’t smell like normal humans.” Katherine was confused compleatly, she knew they couldn’t be vampires, she was told they didn’t exist by her brother, she also knew he wasn’t a normal human because normally she would be shy and not follow them but this guy she just had to follow.

Brushing down his cloak, his hearing picked up the sound of heavy breathing and turned in the direction of the sound. As he turned, he got the whiff of a werewolf’s scent and scrunched up his nose knowing it was only a matter of time before the rest of the room was picking up on the scent. Gritting his teeth, he reached for his hood pulling it up once again, just as a child sniffed the air, a small frown crossing over their face as they picked up on the differing scents. It was just slightly annoying, albeit the werewolf probably didn’t know what she was getting into by following the scent of dog. Clicking his tongue, he looked over at the floor and kicked at it, aware that the child was looking around with a scared expression.

Her fingers curled against the wall, scraping the skin from her knuckles, but she didn’t even feel it; her wide eyes picked out the face of a child. She knew he smelled her. She had to get out. Natasha had to get out. Now. Now… A wild plan began to form in her mind, but she quickly dismissed it; it’d only get her killed. She was still trapped here; nobody had moved. The doorway was still blocked. Why didn’t anyone move here? Her heart pounded in her ears, blood racing, slowly dripping from her shredded knuckles to spatter silently to the floor. She didn’t notice.

Vlad sniffed he air, now aware of the scent of the blood that mingled with the multiple smells that were gathering in the room and he headed toward the werewolf, regarding her with his jade orbs. He wasn’t sure if she’d freak if she noticed him stalking toward her, so made it as inconspicuous as he was able. He paused after walking a few steps, hovering near her before grinding his teeth and moved his hands back into his pocket. Slowly, he moved a little closer, his eyes darting back to the child who was clinging to their mother’s leg, trying to get her attention. Vlad knew that the werewolf wasn’t a threat, and he could practically smell her fear. Once he was close enough, he coughed into his hand, trying to grab her attention, “Breathe normally,” He told her gently, keeping a small amount of distance to show that he didn’t mean her any harm.

Katherine blinked, looking at them both, she slowly walked over, blinking softly but didn’t say anything, actually she hid behind Vlad because she didn’t want to say anything to her. She knew the girl was a werewolf but she just didn’t understand why she was so cared, they weren’t any harm to her, she hoped, she didn’t know that they were vampires and so she didn’t see the threat.

Her head whipped to Vlad and she felt a growl rise in her throat but swallowed it, doing her best to calm down. It wasn’t easy, since every fibre of her body screamed at her to shove him out the way and make a run for it, but she managed. That was when Natasha realised she was bleeding. Her eyes shot wide again and she stuffed her hands deep into her pockets to muffle the smell. She knew she wouldn’t last long now. But she caught the scent of something else… non-vampiric. Tash instantly calmed down, heart slowing back to her regular barely-perceptible thump, and she nodded slightly to the ghoul. “Thanks,” she whispered back to the vampire.

Katherine pulled something out of her pocket and walked over to her, giving her a bandage. “Wrap your hands with it.” And then she quickly scurried back behind Vlad, hiding again as he shy attitude was now come back out. She watched Natasha with a worried look, hoping she would wrap her hands up.

“We’re not anymore of a threat to you than you are to us as of now,” He told her calmly, glancing back at Katherine with an expression that showed unamusement with her antics of hiding behind him. His face gave nothing away as he turned back to Natasha, “Wait out until the ending announcement, you will be able to sneak out then.” He told her calmly, before turning back to the man who had given the announcements before, awaiting the final one that he had promised for them to be able to leave the place. It wouldn’t be long now before everyone started to leave, the final speech would be nothing more than a mere list of all the people that had passed on in their clan since the last meeting. Nothing he was interested in.

She nodded, though he had already turned away, and mouthed a thank you to the ghoul - she made a mental note to ask her name. Tash quickly wrapped up her hands, fingers sticky from the blood that had begun to dry. She’d need to wash out her jeans later too. But for now, Vlad’s assurances were just enough for her to focus her attention on the vampire calling the list of names she’d never heard before, but she kept her attention on him because who knows? Maybe she’d learn something from this inner circle of vampires. It’d be nice to take some new and interesting info back to Alpha.
