Hi, I’ve been reading book 7 of the Demonata series, and I came across a sentence that didn’t make sense. I’ve tried saying it in every way possible, but it just doesn’t seem to work. Hopefully you can explain what I seem to be missing. The sentence is: Vain, proud Theseus was severing the minotaur’s head, to take as a trophy, when he heard the child’s sobs.
How would you say it?
Thanks
Read it as “Vain AND proud…”
