UK & IRELAND

 

This is the artist's first, draft cover for the UK/Ireland edition of Death's Shadow, Book 7 of The Demonata. My editor and I both liked this, but felt it looked a bit too clean. Also, the monster that it represents in the book is a creature in a state of metamorphosis -- we wanted to catch that state of change, a beast torn between two worlds, two forms.Plus, we felt it should be facing in the other direction. So we asked Mel Grant (the artist) to give it another once-over.
