Review by Jodie, aged 12 from Falkirk, Scotland

Rating: Brilliant

What did you think of the plot? Could it be improved?
I loved the plot I think Darren Shan should write a book about what happened whan Darren went to paradise because I want to know about it and if Darren met Mr Crepsly again. I would love to know about what happened when he died.

Was it easy to get into the story?
It was so, so, so easy to get into the story. I loved the book. I loved the whole Darren Shan saga.

Were the characters realistic?
The characters have always been realistic to me all the way through the saga.

What did you think of the ending? Would you change it in any way?
I think the ending was fantastic, but it would be nice to find out what happened to Darren in the different life. And again I think we should know about paradise.

Are you going to read more books by this author?
I will read more books from this author he is excellent.

No! It is the best book I have ever read!

Very! Even if you haven't read the others books in the saga!

Were the characters realistic?
Yes, I could really understand the characters.

What did you think of the ending? Would you change it in any way?
Maybe but probably not. It's a great ending as it is!

What did you think of the plot? Could it be improved?
Brillant book full of twists and turn explained ace great plot.

Was it easy to get into the story?
It's easy if you have read the saga, but not if you just start on twelve, the last one.

Were the characters realistic?
You feel sorry for Darren and Steve because they're so real you know them like mates.

What did you think of the ending? Would you change it in any way?
No, you could not change the ending, it was great.

Are you going to read more books by this author?
I have read all of them.

Review by A Reader, aged 14 from England

Rating: Brilliant

What did you think of the plot? Could it be improved?
No it's brilliant. All the way through the other books I was like-it's ok he can't die because he's the one talking about it so it came as a huge shock when he died-twice!! I love all the books and have bought 1-12. I would recommend them to anyone willing to read 12 books to get to the end!

Was it easy to get into the story?
Yes, I would be so engrosed by the first chapter that I never even realised what was happening around me

Were the characters realistic?
Yes, because Darren was about my age, even if it was just in appearances, I found it easy to relate to all the characters.

What did you think of the ending? Would you change it in any way?
No! I loved it bcause it tied up any loose ends.

Are you going to read more books by this author?
Yes! If I can find any!

Review by Josh, aged 12 from Brighton & Hove, England

Rating: Okay

What did you think of the plot? Could it be improved?
Yes,very much so. I didn't like the fact that in the end it was like "Luke, I am your father", and the fact that they have the main character die, then brought back to life, and then have him die again. it just wasn't right.

Was it easy to get into the story?
Yes, because the first book (Darren Shan; Cirque Du Freak) gripped me in by what choices Darren made at the start to stop his best friend from dying. Throughout the books new characters were introduced, again keeping you reading the book.

Were the characters realistic?
No, not at all! how often would you walk out your front door, walk into a vampire, a snake-boy, a wolf-man, and tiny people in blue robes and hoods who can't breathe pure air safely without a mask?

What did you think of the ending? Would you change it in any way?
No offence to Darren Shan, or any other readers of "Sons of Destiny" who liked the plot, but I thought the ending of the final book definitely could have been better. I would change it so that Darren doesn't die, isn't brought back to life as a little person(the tiny people I talked about earlier) and then later to just disappear into nothingness. It definitely could have been better, in my opinion.

Are you going to read more books by this author?
Yes, definitely. eventually when he brings out his new series, I will check them out, as I liked the previous series very much.
