The cover from the American ARC (Advance Reading Copy -- known as a Proof in the U.K.) of Book 2. On the final cover, the cross was removed, in case anyone objected!! The quote from "Publishers Weekly" was replaced with the J.K. Rowling quote which has been used on all of the American covers to date!!!! (even though it only refers to the first book!!!!) If you look closely at the main face, slightly to the left of the boy's left eye, you can make out the shape of another, much smaller face -- which may or may not be a photographic trick of the light ...
