The Cardinal, the man who rules of this metropolis, kills Capac Raimi's uncle and takes the younger man under his wing. And that's when it gets weird. Capac doesn't remember his life before the city, and as he begins the strange task of digging up his past, it's far from clear what he'll find. Reviews laud the vivid character development and solid plotting, and the successive books are said to be even better.
