Why do I get the feeling I won’t be there?
Either the spider sense or the fact my parents would never allow me to take a plane to Canada during a weekend, let alone a school day.
Nope, whenever Darren feels like he wants a pizza in Italy thats where I’ll be.
Is it only 4 years? To me it feels even longer—but then they’ve been a busy 4 years!! It was a lovely sunny day last time—hopefully the sun will come out this tiime too… though if you’re predicting -10, that’s probably a tall order… :-)
Hasn’t is been a busy four years for a lot of us!?
My prediction is sunny, and freezing. I would not be surprised if it was -20C in March. Unfortunately Canada is not known for our warm, sunny beaches. We’re better known for our freak snowstorms in August! (Don’t laugh, It’s happened!)
Unfortunately Canadian weather is all over the place. I’ve seen it go from 10C to -40C overnight. And given the fact that as we speak, the Ottawa reigion just got hit with another massive snowstorm, the snow in my front yard is almost deeper than I am tall. (And I’m not that short either!) at this rate, we might not even get summer :p
On the plus side, I only have maybe 3 hours of driving round trip, not 16. I don’t have to deal with CBSA/ABSA and the Spanish Inquisition they like to give you when border crossing, and I don’t have to put up with a dodgey old car that I was sure was going to leave me on the side of the interstate!
I also have less than 45-50 items to bring this time, so no carpel tunnel :)
I’m not even sure if I’ll be there… 7pm is rush hour and Toronto is usually more than an hour’s drive mostly without traffic jams. :(
(I told some of my classmates about the event; they said if I was a true fan I’d run to Toronto. *_*)
I wonder if Darren Shan will recognize me from the messageboards if I tell him? Probably not…
Toronto is an evil city to drive in. Last time I went (for exams at the Direct Energy Center) I was A) Not sure I was on a road B) Got pinned between a red light and two street cars C) Nearly ran over at least 10 j-walkers.. Also, Toronto is about 5-6 hours away on a good day, add in traffic and I steer clear! Ottawa is a slice to drive in, I can navigate it no problem! In fact, the worst place I’ve ever driven is Montreal, followed by Costa Rica. Even the middle of New Jersey was better to drive in ><
Last time I met him, he did mention the names if a few forum regulars from the event the night before, so I don’t see why this would be much different. You have been around for a while, and at least to me, have left good impressions!
Ten - Not that I normally encourage this, but skip school. There are some opportunities that are too good to miss!
