Hi Darren,

At school we have to do creative writing frequently but I feel when I do this creative writing I have to hold back because I feel that people will judge me for the things that I write about and I feel my teachers will find what I write about unsuitable for my age as I write about vampires and my stories, like yours involve great suffering for the characters. Please could you help me out by giving me advice on whether I should continue to hold back with my writing or write what I want to write and face what the other students and the teachers have to say about my story.

Any advice is welcome, please reply.

Only you can decide what you want to show to your friends and teachers. But don’t forget that, if you want to push the envelope, you can always write just for yourself! Check out my writing tips for more advice: http://www.darrenshan.com/writing-tips/
