I despise Steve, but I don’t find him annoying, just a horrid person who needs to die horribly for what he does in book nine!

Is The Saga misogynistic?

So I came across this post on tumblr.

To say the Saga of Darren Shan is misogynistic is a bit harsh, but the OP makes a few valid points (like there aren’t very many female characters in the series and the few there are are usually in submissive/background roles). I’m wondering too if the Zom-B books were made in response to this kind of criticism, too, since B seems to go against the stereotypical gender roles.

What do you guys think?
